Most influencer campaigns are built for products that prove themselves in a single post. Collagen isn’t one of them.

Absolute Collagen takes around three months of consistent use before you see a difference. The sample creators had to work with covered 14 days. That was the gap we had to solve: how do you generate credible proof when the product hasn’t had time to work yet?

The Brief

Three problems, stacked. A results timeline far longer than any content cycle. An audience that refused to sit inside one persona, spanning different ages, life stages and motivations. And a category where a burst of noise gets you nowhere, because trust is what actually converts.

The Strategy

We started by changing what the brand was arguing for. Instead of anti-ageing, the messaging was built around “Ageing Powerfully”, a platform broad enough to hold very different ages and motivations without patronising any of them.

Then we borrowed credibility we couldn’t manufacture. Hair and skin professionals came first, creators whose audiences already trusted their judgement on exactly this kind of claim. Their word carried the results before the results existed.

The Talent

And then we stopped thinking in campaigns. Every month we seeded at scale to 100+ creators, watched who genuinely engaged, and funnelled the strongest voices into the Collagen Collective, an affiliate community built to keep those relationships going long after the first post.

821 creators across the programme. 4,000 pieces of content. A 54% post rate, which at that seeding volume tells you people actually liked the product rather than politely ignored the parcel.

The Results

100 million potential reach. 185,000 engagements. $2.6M EMV. And the number that matters commercially: 56% better cost efficiency.

Three Things That Worked

  1. Reposition before you activate. No amount of creator volume fixes a message that excludes half the customer base. “Ageing Powerfully” did more work than any single partnership.
  2. Borrow trust when the payoff is slow. If the product can’t demonstrate itself inside a content window, professional credibility does the demonstrating for it. Expertise is the shortcut to proof.
  3. Relationships beat bookings. In considered categories, the third post from a creator who genuinely uses the product outperforms the first post from someone who doesn’t. The Collagen Collective was the difference between renting reach and owning advocacy.

The Takeaway

If your product needs three months to prove itself, your influencer strategy needs to last longer than three weeks. The brands winning in considered categories aren’t running better campaigns. They’re building communities of creators who stay.
